Contrary to popular belief, London has FANTASTIC FOOD! East London’s Brick Lane has at least 52 Indian restaurants, while Chinatown is filled with (what feels like) hundreds of restaurants. Pop into a hole in the wall restaurant instead of one of the chains. 99% of the time the food is amazing and worth taking a chance on a “no name.” Special Bonus: supporting a local business!
Yesterday, a friend of mine and I stumbled upon a wonderful little Indian restaurant on Brick Lane. For £7.50 (the equivalent of about $12.32 back home) we got a free drink (beer is usually a great choice), an appetizer, a side dish (rice or naan) and a main dish. The owners were friendly and chatted with us about different places to go in London. Definitely worth our time!
